OCCUPY TILL I COME IN GIVING: FOR GOD’S LOVED-WORLD IS A GIVING WORLD!
“For God so LOVED the WORLD that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16.
God’s LOVED-WORLD is an awesome world of LOVE – therefore, don’t be SELFISH about it. To many, the opposite of LOVE may be HATE or HATRED. On the contrary, in God’s scriptural kingdom, LOVE’S opposite is SELFISHNESS – being selfish, covetous, hoarding and greedy.
“GIVE, and it shall be GIVEN unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men GIVE into your bosom. For with the SAME MEASURE that ye mete withal it shall be MEASURED to you again” Luke 6:38.
The LOVED-WORLD of God is made to be liveable, likeable, loveable and enjoyable because of the act of GIVING that takes place every now and then. For example, the plants GIVE out oxygen to RECEIVE or TAKE IN carbon dioxide for their photosynthesis. In same scenario are humans and all living creation. We GIVE out carbon dioxide and TAKE IN oxygen to keep our human body alive and life in check. This cycle keeps life going every day. It is a GIVING world; hence it is LOVED-WORLD, and it is LIKEABLE, LIVEABLE, LOVEABLE, REACHABLE, INDESCRIBABLE and ENJOYABLE
God so LOVED, He GAVE! Genuine LOVE GIVES. Where God’s LOVE is, GIVING goes along. Giving could be in the form of giving once TIME, FINANCE, PHYSIQUE (STRENGTH), TALENT/SKILL, PROTECTION [DEFEND], VISITATION, MATERIAL GIFT, SPIRITUAL CARE and such likes and MORE, to the needy and vulnerable ONE especially. To authenticate and ensure that God’s LOVE that saves us from sin keeps abounding in us by grace, our Father God abundantly and lavishly GAVE us the Holy Spirit of LOVE, to ensure that the DNA of love is embedded in us as default to live and do life in love. Thus, indicating that everyone born of God in Christ Jesus is carrying the default of love, irrespective of circumstances, except the individual chooses and decides to live otherwise against the true being in Christ Jesus’ stead.
“Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s LOVE has been ABUNDANTLY POURED out within OUR HEARTS through the Holy Spirit who was GIVEN to us . . . 8 But God clearly shows and proves His own LOVE for us, by the fact that while we were STILL SINNERS, Christ DIED for us” Romans 5:5, 8/Amplified.
It is MORE BLESSED to GIVE than to RECEIVE, for givers NEVER go down no matter what. This I know so well. Hence you see that the hand of the giver is always above and over the recipient’s hands to receive. That is the kingdom principle which also works in the natural world. Make yourself a living giver today, propelled by love and not by pride and arrogance, nor by sentiments, prejudice and dissimulation.
Therefore, do a self-check and be a GIVER today: For God’s LOVED world is a GIVING world – and our passion to help people when they are falling should outweigh our intent to crucify them when they fall – THERE’S NO ROOM FOR SELFISHNESS, HOARDING AND WITHHOLDING to enjoy the unspeakable gift of joy of God that’s in Christ Jesus stead.
SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:
“For God so LOVED the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16.
“I have shown you in every way, by labouring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘IT IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECIEVE” Acts 20:35.
“There is that SCATTERETH, and yet INCREASETH; and there is that WITHHOLDETH more than is meet, but it tendeth to POVERTY. 25 The LIBERAL soul shall be MADE fat: and he that WATERETH shall be WATERED also himself. 26 He that WITHHOLDETH corn, the people shall CURSE him: but BLESSING shall be upon the HEAD of him that SELLETH it” Proverbs 11:24-26.
“For God is not UNJUST so as to FORGET your WORK and the LOVE which you have SHOWN for His name in MINISTERING to [the needs of] the saints (God’s people), as you do. 11 And we desire for each one of you to SHOW the same DILIGENCE [all the way through] so as to realize and enjoy the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you will not be [spiritually] sluggish, but [will instead be] IMITATORS of those who through faith [lean on God with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in His power] and by patient endurance [even when suffering] are [now] INHERITING the promises” Hebrews 6:10-12 (Amplified).
SUMMARY:
Central Thesis: God designed the world and His kingdom to operate by love expressed through giving. Selfishness, hoarding, and withholding are the true opposites of love and block both natural and kingdom blessing. Every believer carries a default of love by the Holy Spirit and is called to live as a giver — in time, strength, resources, and compassion — because “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”
- Kingdom Mandate: Occupy by Giving
The exhortation opens with Luke 19:13 — “Occupy till I come” — but reframes it as “Occupy till I come in giving.” John 3:16 anchors the entire message: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.” God’s nature is love, and love proves itself by giving. Therefore, God’s world is a “loved world” and a “giving world” by design.
- Doctrinal Correction: Love’s True Opposite
Culturally, people assume love’s opposite is hate or hatred. The message corrects this biblically: In God’s scriptural kingdom, love’s opposite is selfishness — manifested as being selfish, covetous, hoarding, and greedy. 1 Corinthians 13:5 underlies this: “love seeketh not her own.” Selfishness is the anti-kingdom posture; hate is the fruit, but selfishness is the root.
- Natural Law Confirms Kingdom Law: The Cycle of Giving
Creation itself illustrates the principle. Plants give oxygen and take in carbon dioxide; humans do the reverse. This cycle keeps life going daily. The world is “liveable, likeable, loveable, reachable, indescribable and enjoyable” because giving and receiving are built into it. Luke 6:38 is cited: “Give, and it shall be given unto you… with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” What works in nature is also kingdom principle.
- The Default of Love in Every Believer
Romans 5:5, 8 explains how: God saved us by love, then abundantly poured His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. This embeds the “DNA of love” as default in everyone born of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore every believer carries the capacity for love irrespective of circumstance, unless they choose to live contrary to their true being in Christ. Genuine love gives — it is not theoretical.
- Forms of Giving + Attitude of Giving
Giving is broad: time, finance, physique/strength, talent/skill, protection/defense, visitation, material gift, spiritual care, and more — especially to the needy and vulnerable. The attitude matters: be propelled by love, not by pride, arrogance, sentiments, prejudice, or dissimulation. Acts 20:35 is quoted: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” The giver’s hand is always above the recipient’s hand. Proverbs 11:24-26 confirms: the liberal soul shall be made fat; he that watereth shall be watered himself, while withholding leads to poverty and curse.
- Compassion Over Condemnation: No Room for Selfishness
The writer confronts a critical heart issue: our passion to help people when they are falling should outweigh our intent to crucify them when they fall. There is no room for selfishness, hoarding, and withholding if we want to enjoy the “unspeakable gift of joy of God that is in Christ Jesus’ stead” 2 Corinthians 9:15. Hebrews 6:10-12 reinforces: God does not forget work and love shown in ministering to His people. We are called to diligence and to imitate those who inherit promises through faith and patience.

Tone & Call to Action
Tone: Urgent, weighty, doctrinal, and corrective. It is both teaching and exhortation.
Call: Do a self-check. Reject selfishness, covetousness, hoarding, greed. Choose to be a “living giver” today because God’s loved-world operates on giving.
In one sentence: The message declares that because God is love and He gave His Son, His world and kingdom function by giving; therefore, believers must reject selfishness as love’s true opposite, embrace the Holy Spirit’s embedded default of love, and occupy their lives as givers in every form, knowing giving is the blessed kingdom principle that keeps one above.
