JUNE 2026 THEME – “HAVE FAITH IN GOD”

June 1, 2026 By Pastor Chukie Leave a Comment

JUNE 2026 THEME – “HAVE FAITH IN GOD”: THE NEED TO “HAVE FAITH IN GOD” IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD!

“God is FAITHFUL [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise—He can be depended on], and through Him you were called into FELLOWSHIP with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” 1 Corinthians 1:9/Amplified.

To “HAVE FAITH IN GOD” is to trust in God’s faithfulness to Himself, reflecting His nature faithfulness through the grace in Christ Jesus stead. Our God is FAITHFUL – that is His NATURE. He’s a God of FAITHFULNESS – He lives within Himself – His NATURE – being FAITHFUL in FAITHFULNESS in the grace. And as such, in achieving life’s goals with God in Christ Jesus stead, it would be great for you to look at the nature of God regarding FAITHFULNESS as found of Him. And having Faith in God as a Faithful God gives the leverage in doing life and living godly in the grace. And it also encompasses God’s faithfulness to keep to His promises and covenant TO you in Christ Jesus stead, in the grace.

“FAITHFUL and ABSOLUTELY TRUSTWORTHY is He who is CALLING you [to Himself for your salvation], and He will do it [He will FULFILL His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own]” 1 Thessalonians 5:24/Amplified.

“Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is RELIABLE and TRUSTWORTHY and FAITHFUL [to His word]” Hebrews 10:23/Amplified.

“I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy FAITHFULNESS to all generations. 2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy FAITHFULNESS shalt thou establish in the very heavens. 3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, 4 thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. 5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy FAITHFULNESS also in the congregation of the saints . . .” Psalms 89:1-52.

There’s the need to note this importantly, that God DOES not have direct promises or covenant as some would like to proclaim WITH us; but He DOES have direct promises or covenant TO us and FOR us IN Christ Jesus stead. Meaning, that God DOES have promises and covenant WITH Jesus Christ, on our behalf in the grace. This highlights the IMPORTANCE of having FAITH IN Christ Jesus toward the Father God, from whom ALL BLESSEDNESS comes, as Christ Jesus is the embodiment of our redemption rights and privileges in the grace. So, when we talk about God’s covenants and promises, they ARE NOT DIRECTLY with us, but with Jesus, on our behalf, to us, in the grace. This understanding is key, as seen in the book of Philemon and other New Testament Scriptures, emphasising faith toward God in Christ Jesus stead. Amen.

“That the COMMUNICATION of thy FAITH may become effectual by the ACKNOWLEDGING of EVERY GOOD THING which is IN you IN Christ Jesus” Philemon 1:6.

“How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house, 21 testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, REPENTANCE toward God and FAITH toward our Lord Jesus Christ” Acts 20:20-21/NKJV.

“But as God is FAITHFUL, our word to you was not Yes and No. 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was PREACHED among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and No, but in Him was YES. 20 For all the PROMISES of God in Him are YES, and in Him AMEN, to the glory of God through us. 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee” 2 Corinthians 1:18-22/NKJV.

Here are some attributes of God in His faithful nature and faithfulness; this is to enable us see the reason and gracious essence to “HAVE FAITH IN GOD” as in this writ context but not limited to:

  1. God is FAITHFUL to Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13.
  2. God is FAITHFUL to His Word and promises. Hebrews 10:23.
  3. God is FAITHFUL to His relationship. 1 Corinthians 1:9; Hebrews 8:28-30.
  4. God is FAITHFUL to forgive. 1 John 1:9 (5-10).
  5. God is FAITHFUL in agreement. Deuteronomy 7:9.
  6. God is FAITHFUL to establish and deliver. 1 Corinthians 10:13, 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
  7. God is FAITHFUL to accomplish His part in the assignment that He gives to us. 1 Thessalonians 5:24.
  8. God is the/a FAITHFUL creator. 1 Peter 4:19.

God is FAITHFUL, and His FAITHFULNESS is ever sure and true as in the Holy Writ. You need to take time to search the scriptures and find God everywhere therein. So, I encourage you to kindly read the HOLY BIBLE to know more of Him, in being faithful and how to walk in faith as shown in scriptures like:

“You SEARCH the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which TESTIFY of Me” John 5:39/NKJV.

“Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God” Matthew 22:29/NKJV.

“Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and SEARCHED the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men” Acts 17:10-13.

One thing is certain in life and that is – LIKE BEGAT LIKE. A tree doesn’t give birth to an animal or mammal. A Lion doesn’t give birth to a Leopard, nor a Goat give birth to a Sheep even in their proximity of likeness or characteristics. And our God of godliness, wants His redeemed children of godliness to do life and live godly in the grace in Christ Jesus stead. Amen.

“Grace and peace be MULTIPLIED unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 according as his DIVINE POWER hath GIVEN unto us ALL THINGS that pertain unto LIFE and GODLINESS, through the knowledge of him that hath CALLED us to glory and virtue: 4 whereby are GIVEN unto us EXCEEDING GREAT and PRECIOUS PROMISES: that by these ye might be PARTAKERS of the DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” 2 Peter 1:2-4.

One need to know full well that we are the offspring of God, the sheep of His pasture according to the Scriptures – [[Acts 17:24-29; Psalms 100:3; 1 John 4:17-18); (John 10:34-35; Psalms 82:6; Genesis 3:5)]. It then means that we can live a FAITHFUL life and achieve good successes with God when we dare. The other reason that we can achieve success is because we are the seed of Abraham – who was FAITHFUL and prospered when he dares. The same grace is available to us today despite our challenges to be FAITHFUL and to prosper in Christ Jesus stead. 2 Peter 1:2-4; Galatians 3:6-9, 13-14, 26-29. (See Genesis 13:2; 24:1).

Considering the above-mentioned nature of God in being FAITHFUL, you can bank on His FAITHFULNESS in His grace and BLESSEDNESS; this will give you the enabling leverage to abound the more, in sharing and partaking of His promises in the REDEMPTION DEED, in Christ Jesus stead. Amen. And you can now have a reason to see the need to “HAVE FAITH IN GOD” in Christ Jesus stead, in the grace.

Be Blessed accordingly. Amen.

SELAH – PAUSE AND THINK.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH READING AND PONDERING IN CONTEXT:

“Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His disciples heard it . . . 20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “HAVE FAITH IN GOD. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart [Human Spirit], but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, BELIEVE that you receive them, and you will have them” Mark 11:12-14, 20-24/NKJV.

“When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you BELIEVE that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH LET IT BE [BECOME] TO YOU.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.” 31 But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country” Matthew 9:27-31/NKJV.

“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY HIS FAITH” Habakkuk 2:4 [Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38]/NKJV.

“But what does it say? “The WORD is near you, in your mouth and in your heart [spirit-being]” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and BELIEVE in your heart [spirit-being] that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart [spirit-being] one BELIEVES unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever BELIEVES on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no DISTINCTION between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is RICH TO ALL who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:8-13/NKJV.

“Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By FAITH we understand that the worlds were framed by THE WORD of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible . . . 6 But without FAITH it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” Hebrews 11:1-3, 6/NKJV.

“O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or BY THE HEARING OF FAITH? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or BY THE HEARING OF FAITH?— 6 just as Abraham “BELIEVED God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would JUSTIFY the Gentiles by FAITH, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “IN YOU ALL THE NATIONS SHALL BE BLESSED.” 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham” Galatians 3:1-9/NKJV
