“Marrying someone you can submit to and submitting (in excellent spirit)<\/em> to the person you marry is the virtue of true womanhood”.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

“Many a man proclaims his own loyalty\u00a0and goodness, <\/span><\/em>But who can find a faithful<\/strong>\u00a0and trustworthy<\/strong> man?”<\/em> Proverbs 20:6 (Amplified).<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“An excellent<\/strong> woman [one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent, and virtuous<\/strong>], who is he who can find her? <\/span>Her value is more precious<\/strong> than jewels\u00a0and<\/i>\u00a0her worth is far above rubies\u00a0or<\/i> pearls <\/span>“<\/em>Proverbs 31:10 (Amplified).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God<\/strong>. 22\u00a0<\/sup>Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.<\/strong> 23\u00a0<\/sup>For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.24\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.25\u00a0<\/sup>Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;<\/strong> 26\u00a0<\/sup>That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27\u00a0<\/sup>That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28\u00a0<\/sup>So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. “In the same way, you wives, be submissive<\/strong> to your own husbands [subordinate, not as inferior, but out of respect for the responsibilities entrusted to husbands and their accountability to God, and so partnering with them] so that even if some do not obey the word [of God], they may be won over [to Christ] without discussion by the godly lives of their wives, <\/span>2\u00a0<\/sup>when they see your modest and respectful behavior [together with your devotion and appreciation\u2014love your husband, encourage him, and enjoy him as a blessing from God].\u00a0<\/span>3\u00a0<\/sup>Your adornment must not be\u00a0merely\u00a0external\u2014with interweaving\u00a0and\u00a0elaborate knotting of the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or [being superficially preoccupied with] dressing in\u00a0expensive\u00a0clothes;\u00a0<\/span>4\u00a0<\/sup>but let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality\u00a0and\u00a0unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not overanxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God.\u00a0<\/span>5\u00a0<\/sup>For in this way in former times the holy women, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands\u00a0and\u00a0adapting themselves to them;\u00a0<\/span>6\u00a0<\/sup>just as Sarah obeyed Abraham [following him and having regard for him as head of their house], calling him lord. And you have become her daughters if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear [that is, being respectful toward your husband but not giving in to intimidation, nor allowing yourself to be led into sin, nor to be harmed].\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span>7\u00a0<\/sup>In the same way, you husbands, live<\/strong> with\u00a0your wives\u00a0in an understanding way<\/strong> [with great gentleness and tact, and with an intelligent regard for the marriage relationship], as with someone physically weaker, since she is a woman. Show her honor and respect<\/strong> as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered or ineffective.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span>8\u00a0<\/sup>Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted [courteous and compassionate toward each other as members of one household], and humble in spirit;\u00a0<\/span>9\u00a0<\/sup>and never return evil for evil or insult for insult [avoid scolding, berating, and any kind of abuse], but on the contrary, give a blessing [pray for one another\u2019s well-being, contentment, and protection]; for you have been called for this very purpose, that you might inherit a blessing [from God that brings well-being, happiness, and protection].\u00a0<\/span>10\u00a0<\/sup>For, <\/span><\/em><\/span>\u201cThe one who wants to enjoy life and see good days<\/span> [good\u2014whether apparent or not], <\/span><\/em>Must keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from speaking guile<\/span> (treachery, deceit). <\/span><\/em>11 <\/sup><\/span><\/em>\u201cHe must turn away from wickedness and do what is right<\/span>. <\/span><\/em>He must search for peace<\/span>\u00a0[with God, with self, with others]\u00a0and pursue it eagerly<\/span> [actively\u2014not merely desiring it]. <\/span><\/em>12\u00a0 <\/sup><\/span><\/em>\u201cFor the eyes of the Lord are<\/span> [looking favorably] upon the righteous<\/span> (the upright), <\/span><\/em>And His ears are attentive to their prayer<\/span> (eager to answer), <\/span><\/em>But the face of the Lord is against those who practice evil<\/span>\u201d <\/span><\/em>1 Peter 3:1-12 (Amplified).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
