LOVE AT ITS BEST: IT DOES INSTRUCTS AND DISCIPLINES!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“And ye have FORGOTTEN the exhortation which\u00a0speaketh\u00a0unto you as unto children,\u00a0My\u00a0son, DESPISE not thou the CHASTENING of the Lord, nor FAINT when thou art REBUKED of him: 6 for WHOM THE LORD LOVETH HE CHASTENETH, AND SCOURGETH EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVETH. 7 If ye endure CHASTENING, God DEALETH with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father CHASTENETH not? 8 But if ye be without CHASTISEMENT, whereof all are PARTAKERS, then are ye BASTARDS, and not sons”<\/i>\u00a0Hebrews 12:5-8.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You may not like and love this writ, except you genuinely want God’s WORD to define you for today and tomorrow as you do LIFE and live GODLY\u00a0by\u00a0grace, in Christ Jesus\u2019\u00a0stead. For some, LOVE is basically about being\u00a0spoken to softly, taken to the mall for shopping, being showered\u00a0with gifts now and then, taken for holidays, spoilt with every good thing or goodies while their shortfalls\u00a0and\u00a0real-life\u00a0failings are never mentioned or told them, which would\u00a0rather help them to amend,\u00a0braze\u00a0up, mature and grow in the grace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u00a0is\u00a0unfortunate that many people are in Church without having anyone to strengthen them from their bad behavioural menace and attitudes to the\u00a0realities\u00a0of life. When people build their lives on falsehoods and entitlement, and they\u00a0do\u00a0not\u00a0realise\u00a0the dangers of not wanting the truth, they will always\u00a0find\u00a0themselves\u00a0at\u00a0the breaking points of life\u2019s\u00a0deceptions and falsehoods. And some will get to a point wherein they are irreparable, because such LOVE anticipated without discipline for\u00a0wrongdoing\u00a0was never MEASURED to them\u00a0–\u00a0with the true reality of life:\u00a0discipline and instruction as\u00a0the\u00a0path to do life and live godly\u00a0by\u00a0grace in righteousness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Herein are three hard TRUTHS\u00a0among\u00a0the lot about genuine\u00a0LOVE\u00a0one needs to give thoughts to. They\u00a0are needful\u00a0in order to\u00a0help you, and\u00a0your friend, spouse,\u00a0colleagues\u00a0and those you love and cares about:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. LOVE with ‘OPEN REBUKES’ – helps to DELIVER and SAVE<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Proverbs 27:5-6.<\/b>\u00a0
    “OPEN REBUKE is better than SECRET love. 6\u00a0FAITHFUL\u00a0are the WOUNDS of a friend; but the KISSES of an ENEMY are deceitful”\u00a0<\/i>Proverbs 27:5-6.<\/b>\u00a0
    <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. LOVE<\/strong> That ‘CHASTENS’ – helps to MOLD and AMEND<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0Hebrews 12:5-11.<\/b>

  3. Love that PROTECTS – helps to COVERS, OVERLOOKS, MAKES UP and to EMANCIPATES from further sins and errors<\/b>\u00a0–\u00a0<\/i>1 Peter 4:8\/Proverbs 10:12.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    “And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for LOVE shall COVER (OVERLOOK, MAKES UP) the multitude of sins”\u00a0<\/i>1 Peter 4:8 (Emphasis Mine).<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    “Hatred\u00a0stirreth\u00a0up\u00a0strifes: but love COVERETH (OVERLOOK) all sins”\u00a0<\/i>Proverbs 10:12 (Emphasis Mine).<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    God wants us to love while we enjoy His love shed and spread abroad in our inner hearts by the Holy Spirit of love.\u00a0It\u00a0is\u00a0by this love of God\u00a0that\u00a0we are saved. And God has commended His Love towards\u00a0us in Christ Jesus to enable us\u00a0to live\u00a0in Christ Jesus\u2019\u00a0stead by it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the LOVE OF GOD IS SHED ABROAD IN OUR HEARTS by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us . . . 8 But God COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”\u00a0<\/i>Romans 5:5, 8.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    “If I speak with the tongues of men and of\u00a0angels, but\u00a0have not LOVE [for others growing out of God\u2019s love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. 2 And if I have the gift of prophecy [and speak a new message from God to the people], and understand all mysteries, and [possess] all knowledge; and if I have all [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love [reaching out to others], I am nothing. 3 If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all. 4 LOVE endures with patience and serenity, LOVE is kind and\u00a0thoughtful, and\u00a0is not jealous or envious; LOVE does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5 It is not rude; it is not\u00a0self-seeking,\u00a0it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not\u00a0take into account\u00a0a wrong endured. 6 It does not rejoice at\u00a0injustice, but\u00a0rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7 LOVE bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining\u00a0steadfast during\u00a0difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. 8 Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part [for our knowledge is fragmentary and incomplete]. 10 But when that which is complete and perfect comes, that which is incomplete and partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection\u00a0comes\u00a0we will see reality] face to face.     SUMMARY:\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Central Thesis:<\/b>\u00a0Genuine biblical love is not sentimentality or spoiling. It is God’s love, shed abroad by the Holy Spirit, that saves, instructs, disciplines, and matures. True love delivers through open rebuke,\u00a0molds\u00a0through chastening, and protects through covering sin. Without discipline and instruction, love becomes empty sentiment that leaves people broken at life\u2019s breaking points.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Core Declaration: Love at Its Best Instructs + Disciplines<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Hebrews 12:5-8\u00a0<\/b>is the anchor:\u00a0\u201cFor whom the Lord loveth he\u00a0chasteneth, and\u00a0scourgeth\u00a0every son whom he\u00a0receiveth.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0The\u00a0message\u00a0declares that if you have no chastisement, you are not a son but a bastard.\u00a0Love at its best does not faint at rebuke<\/b>; it endures chastening because God deals with us as sons.\u00a0Hebrews 12:11<\/b>: Chastening is\u00a0\u201cgrievous for the present\u201d\u00a0but\u00a0\u201cyieldeth\u00a0the peaceable fruit of righteousness.\u201d\u00a0Kingdom principle: A love without discipline is not fatherly love \u2014 it leaves people irreparable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Warning Against Counterfeit Love<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Many confuse love with soft words + gifts + holidays while ignoring shortfalls and real-life failings.\u00a0That \u201clove\u201d never helps people amend, brace up, mature, and grow in grace<\/b>.\u00a0It is unfortunate that many in church have no one to strengthen them from bad\u00a0behavioural\u00a0menace and attitudes to the realities of life. When people build on falsehoods and entitlement, and refuse truth, they end at the breaking points of life\u2019s deceptions. Without discipline measured to them, some reach a point of being irreparable.\u00a0Doctrine<\/b>: The path to do life and live godly by grace in righteousness is discipline + instruction\u00a02 Timothy 3:16.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. Three Hard Truths About Genuine Love<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          The message presents 3 \u201cneedful\u201d truths to help you, your friend, spouse, colleagues, and those you love and care about:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Love with ‘Open Rebukes’ \u2014 Helps to Deliver and Save<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          Proverbs 27:5-6<\/b>:\u00a0\u201cOpen rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0Truth-telling, though painful, delivers and saves. Concealing faults = deceitful kisses of an enemy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Love That ‘Chastens’ \u2014 Helps to Mold and Amend<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          Hebrews 12:5-11<\/b>: God chastens every son He receives. Earthly fathers corrected us and we gave them reverence; how much more the Father of spirits. Chastening is for our profit\u00a0\u201cthat we might be partakers of his holiness.\u201d\u00a0It is not joyous now, but grievous \u2014 yet it produces righteousness in those exercised by it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Love that Protects \u2014 Helps to Cover, Overlook, Make Up, and Emancipate<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          1 Peter 4:8\u00a0+\u00a0Proverbs 10:12<\/b>:\u00a0\u201cLove shall cover the multitude of sins.\u201d\u00a0\u201cCover\u201d means to overlook, make up, and emancipate from further sins and errors. This is not excusing\u00a0sin but\u00a0refusing to stir up strife with hatred.\u00a0Love\u00a0bears, hopes, and protects without enabling destruction.<\/span><\/p>\n

          \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a04. Foundation:<\/strong> God\u2019s Love First<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

          Romans 5:5, 8:<\/b>\u00a0God wants us to love\u00a0while\u00a0we enjoy His love\u00a0\u201cshed abroad in our inner hearts by the Holy Spirit of love.\u201d\u00a0It is by this love of God that we are saved. God commended His love toward us in Christ Jesus to enable us to live in Christ Jesus\u2019 stead by it.\u00a01 Corinthians 13 Amplified<\/b>\u00a0is quoted in full to define love: patient, kind, not jealous\/proud\/rude\/self-seeking, bears all things, believes\/hopes\/endures all things, never fails.\u00a01 Corinthians 13:13:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cthe greatest of these is love.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
          Kingdom principle: We cannot give what we have not received. Discipline, rebuke, and protection must flow from enjoying God\u2019s love first.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. Tone + Call to Action<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Tone:<\/b>\u00a0Weighty, prophetic, corrective, and pastoral. It is teaching + exhortation. The\u00a0message\u00a0warns against \u201cchurch without fathers,\u201d confronts entitlement\/falsehood, then anchors everything in Scripture.\u00a0<\/span>

            Call:\u00a0<\/b>Let God\u2019s Word define you for today and tomorrow. Accept open rebuke and chastening as proof of sonship, not rejection. Measure love by maturity produced, not comfort given. Give the 3 hard truths to those you love so they amend, brace up, and grow. Let love protect by covering sin, but never without instruction that leads to righteousness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            In one sentence:\u00a0<\/b>The message declares that God\u2019s love \u2014 shed abroad by the Spirit \u2014 is proven through instruction and discipline;\u00a0\u201ctherefore, genuine love must rebuke openly to deliver, chasten to\u00a0mold\u00a0and amend, and protect by covering\u00a0[OVERLOOKING] sin, because love without discipline produces believers who shatter at life\u2019s breaking points, but love rooted in God\u2019s love matures us to live godly by grace in righteousness.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
