HAVE FAITH IN GOD: FOR NO WORD\u00a0MEANS NO\u00a0FAITH – AND NO PLEASING OF GOD!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“. . . 2 And be not CONFORMED to this world: but be ye TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may PROVE what is that GOOD, and ACCEPTABLE, and PERFECT, will of God. 3 For I say, through THE GRACE GIVEN unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, ACCORDING as God hath DEALT to every man THE MEASURE OF FAITH”<\/i>\u00a0Romans 12:1-3.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We live in the days of divergent\u00a0INFORMATION. And information generates what we BELIEVE and our BELIEVING trajectory, which invariably affects either our FAITH toward God or creates\u00a0in us the attitude of FATE on other things. And INFORMATION is available in almost every\u00a0facet\u00a0of our way of doing life for various reasons; and most\u00a0of the time, the information that\u00a0is\u00a0there may lure people away from the TRUTH for\u00a0purposes\u00a0intended\u00a0to\u00a0make them not\u00a0HAVE FAITH IN GOD. And unfortunately,\u00a0that\u00a0is\u00a0why\u00a0the INFORMATION that\u00a0is\u00a0available in some sources\u00a0is\u00a0not TRANSFORMING and TRANSFORMATIVE for the good of doing life,\u00a0to lead one to godly\u00a0living\u00a0– toward God and FAITH in our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Suffice\u00a0it\u00a0to know that FAITH is not BELIEVE and BELIEVE is not FAITH,\u00a0though sometimes we use them interchangeably,\u00a0which\u00a0does\u00a0not\u00a0make spiritual,\u00a0scriptural\u00a0sense. FAITH is ACTIVE while BELIEVE is PASSIVE. And FAITH is acting correspondingly or accordingly on what you BELIEVE\u00a0of\u00a0and on God’s WORD and SAYINGS in SCRIPTURAL context.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FAITH comes by the HEARING and CONTINUOUS HEARING of God’s WORD. Faith does not come by HAVING HEARD, for FAITH is NOW and\u00a0it\u00a0is\u00a0ACTIVE and not PASSIVE. It thus means:\u00a0if FAITH can COME or be activated by the CONTINUOUS HEARING of God’s WORD, it means also FAITH can GO or be inactive due to the lack of\u00a0REFRESHING of\u00a0The\u00a0WORD. Which then indicates that\u00a0NO WORD means a NO FAITH, and\u00a0NO PLEASING OF GOD\u00a0– for FAITH PLEASES God\u00a0Hebrews 11:6;<\/b>\u00a0and the consequence of\u00a0NO FAITH is emptiness,\u00a0noise-making,\u00a0foolishness, stupidity, ignorance and God kept at a distance, for God can\u00a0not\u00a0dwell outside His WORD.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“So\u00a0then FAITH cometh by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of God”\u00a0<\/i>Romans 10:17.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“But WITHOUT FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to [walk with God and] PLEASE Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] BELIEVE that God exists and that He REWARDS those who [EARNESTLY and DILIGENTLY] seek Him”<\/i>\u00a0Hebrews 11:6 Amplified.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, do yourself a FAVOUR and get back into the CONTINUOUS MOOD and REALM of the HEARING of The WORD of God,\u00a0and not in stories or comments or analogy or make-believe of men and more, about the WORD. Your happiness and joy\u00a0are\u00a0within your reach.\u00a0Do something about yourself, to ensure your FAITH works for your goodness,\u00a0graciousness\u00a0and gracefulness in\u00a0every way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“As he\u00a0spake\u00a0these words, many BELIEVED on him. 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which BELIEVED on him,\u00a0If\u00a0ye CONTINUE IN MY WORD, then are ye MY DISCIPLES indeed; 32 and ye shall KNOW THE TRUTH, and THE TRUTH shall make you FREE”\u00a0<\/i>John 8:30-32.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I plead\u00a0with\u00a0you\u00a0today and even now to HAVE FAITH IN GOD, for\u00a0He\u00a0is\u00a0GOOD and FAITHFUL, TRUE and SURE to all His PROMISES, toward our path in doing life and\u00a0living\u00a0godly, in Christ Jesus stead. Amen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“So\u00a0then FAITH cometh by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of God”\u00a0<\/i>Romans 10:17.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“But without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”\u00a0<\/i>Hebrews 11:6.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God OVERCOMETH THE WORLD: and this is the victory that OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, even our FAITH. 5 Who is he that OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”\u00a0<\/i>1 John 5:3-5.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Core thesis<\/b>:\u00a0Have faith in God: for no Word means no faith \u2014 and no pleasing of God\u00a0[Hebrews 11:6].<\/b>\u00a0Faith is sustained only by continuous hearing of God\u2019s Word. In days of divergent information, only the Word produces transforming faith.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Diagnosis of the Age: Divergent Information vs Truth<\/b><\/span>
    We live in days of\u00a0divergent information<\/b>. Information shapes what we believe and our believing trajectory. That trajectory either builds\u00a0faith toward God<\/b>\u00a0or produces an attitude of\u00a0fate\u00a0<\/b>toward other things.\u00a0<\/span>
    Observation:<\/b>\u00a0Most available information lures people away from truth to prevent them from having faith in God. Much of it is not transforming\/transformative for godly living. Only God\u2019s Word leads to faith in our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Key Distinction: Faith vs Believe<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
    Suffice it to know that faith is not believe and believe is not faith<\/b>, though we use them interchangeably.\u00a0<\/span>
    Definition:<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    • Believe = passive<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 mental assent.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Faith = active<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 acting correspondingly on what you believe\u00a0of\u00a0and on God\u2019s Word and sayings in scriptural context.\u00a0<\/span>
        Faith is the obedient response to truth believed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        1. Mechanics of Faith: It is \u201cNow\u201d and Sustained by Hearing<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          Romans 10:17<\/b>:\u00a0\u201cFaith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
          Doctrine<\/b>: Faith comes by the\u00a0hearing and continuous hearing\u00a0<\/b>of God\u2019s Word. Faith does not come by \u201chaving heard\u201d in the past.\u00a0<\/span>
          Implication:\u00a0<\/b>If faith can\u00a0come\/activate<\/b>\u00a0by continuous hearing of the Word, then faith can also\u00a0go\/be inactive<\/b>\u00a0by lack of refreshing of the Word.\u00a0<\/span>
          Formula:\u00a0No Word = no faith = no pleasing of God.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          Hebrews 11:6 Amplified:<\/b> \u201cWithout faith it is impossible to please Him.\u201d\u00a0Consequence of no faith: emptiness,\u00a0noisemaking, foolishness, stupidity, ignorance, and God kept at a distance, for God cannot dwell outside His Word.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Pastoral Charge + Application<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          Therefore, do yourself a favour and get back into the continuous mood and realm of the hearing of the Word of God<\/b>, and not in stories, comments, analogy, or make-believe of men about the Word.\u00a0<\/span>
          Promise<\/b>: Your happiness and joy are within your reach. Do something about yourself so your faith works for your goodness,\u00a0graciousness\u00a0and gracefulness in every way.\u00a0<\/span>
          John 8:30-32:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cIf ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.\u201d\u00a0Freedom, discipleship, and victory come through abiding in the Word.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Closing Plea + Character of God<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
          I plead with you today and even now to have faith in God<\/b>, for He is good and faithful, true and sure to all His promises, toward our path in doing life and\u00a0living\u00a0godly, in Christ Jesus\u00a0stead. Amen.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
