THE PASSOVER \u2013 A MEMORIAL OF REDEMPTION: LET’S THEN CELEBRATE & COMMEMORATE OUR BLESSED REDEMPTION!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“Your\u00a0glorying\u00a0is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven\u00a0leaveneth\u00a0the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are UNLEAVENED. FOR EVEN\u00a0CHRIST\u00a0OUR PASSOVER IS SACRIFICED FOR US: 8 therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth”<\/i>\u00a01 Corinthians 5:6-8.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The PASSOVER \u2013 A MEMORIAL OF REDEMPTION, is the\u00a0very simple\u00a0reason to CELEBRATE and COMMEMORATE the Crucifixion, Death, Burial, Resurrection, Ascension and\u00a0Enthronement\u00a0of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“For though he was CRUCIFIED through weakness, yet he\u00a0liveth\u00a0by THE POWER OF GOD. For we also are weak in him, but WE SHALL LIVE WITH HIM BY THE POWER OF GOD toward you”\u00a0<\/i>2 Corinthians 13:4.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The PASSOVER feast was INSTITUTED by\u00a0God, but\u00a0first OBSERVED and Celebrated in Egypt. And\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0done as an act of FAITH and FAITHFULNESS toward God for the deliverance of Israelites and to MARK and ENACT the people of God’s deliverance from the bondage of slavery into their promised BLESSEDNESS. For in redemption, our deliverance is safe and secured in the grace in Christ Jesus stead\u00a0[Hebrews 11:24-29; Exodus 12:1-36; (Colossians 1:13-14; Ephesians 1:7; Galatians 1:3-5)].<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PASSOVER was a divine contact and ORDINANCE for deliverance, victory, protection, peace,\u00a0restoration\u00a0and covenant to set His people free from Egypt, a place of bondage, suffering, death, torture,\u00a0rigour\u00a0and absolute hopelessness\u00a0[Exodus 1:1-22]<\/b>. It was a FORESHADOW of what Christ has now done for us, as the PASSOVER Lamb that is sacrifice – CRUCIFIED – for our REDEMPTION from the clutches and bondage of darkness into His\u00a0marvellous\u00a0light and the Kingdom of His\u00a0graciousness\u00a0and gracefulness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Then came the day of UNLEAVENED BREAD, when the PASSOVER must be KILLED. 8 And he sent Peter and John, saying,\u00a0Go\u00a0and prepare us the PASSOVER, that we may eat.\u00a09 And they said unto him,\u00a0where\u00a0wilt\u00a0thou that we\u00a0prepare? 10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he\u00a0entereth\u00a0in. 11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the\u00a0guestchamber, where I shall eat the PASSOVER with my disciples? 12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. 13 And they\u00a0went, and\u00a0found as he had said unto them: and they made\u00a0ready\u00a0the PASSOVER. 14 And when the hour\u00a0was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. 15 And he said unto them,\u00a0With\u00a0desire I have\u00a0desired\u00a0to eat this PASSOVER with you before I suffer: 16 for I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said,\u00a0Take\u00a0this, and divide it among yourselves: 18 for I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and\u00a0brake\u00a0it, and gave unto them, saying,\u00a0This\u00a0is MY BODY which is given\u00a0for\u00a0you: this\u00a0do\u00a0in REMEMBRANCE of me.\u00a020 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying,\u00a0This\u00a0cup is the NEW TESTAMENT in MY BLOOD, which is shed for you”<\/i>\u00a0Luke 22:7-20.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s\u00a0the essence of the COMMUNION services\u00a0that’s\u00a0been held as often as allowable to be made\u00a0happen.\u00a0Jesus’\u00a0recall and instituted it again with\u00a0His\u00a0disciples. Ensuring that it becomes\u00a0a MEMORIAL\u00a0– Memorable.\u00a0Hence,\u00a0the PASSOVER is the MEMORIAL of our REDEMPTION. Amen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The next day John\u00a0seeth\u00a0Jesus coming unto him, and saith, BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD, which taketh away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me . . . 35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; 36 and looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD! 37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus”\u00a0<\/i>John 1:29-30, 35-37.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SUMMARY:<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Passover is a memorial of redemption, reminding us of Christ’s sacrifice and our deliverance from bondage. God instituted the Passover feast, first observed in Egypt, as an act of faith and faithfulness, marking Israel’s deliverance from slavery. This foreshadowed Christ’s sacrifice as the Passover Lamb, redeeming us from darkness and bondage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
