BLESSED REDEMPTION: THE PASSOVER \u2013 A MEMORIAL OF REDEMPTION!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“Your\u00a0glorying\u00a0is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven\u00a0leaveneth\u00a0the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. FOR EVEN\u00a0CHRIST\u00a0OUR PASSOVER IS SACRIFICED FOR US: 8 therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the UNLEAVENED BREAD of sincerity and truth”\u00a0<\/i>1 Corinthians 5:6-8.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The is the\u00a0very simple\u00a0reason to celebrate and commemorate the crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, ascension and enthronement of our risen Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. The PASSOVER feast was instituted by\u00a0God but\u00a0first celebrated or\u00a0observed\u00a0in Egypt. And\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0done as an act of faith and faithfulness towards God for the deliverance of Israelites\u00a0(Hebrews 11:24-29; Exodus 12:1-36)<\/b>, to MARK and ENACT the people of God’s deliverance from the bondage of slavery into their promised blessing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he\u00a0proceeded\u00a0further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the DAYS OF UNLEAVENED BREAD. 4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in\u00a0prison, and\u00a0delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after PASSOVER”<\/i>\u00a0Acts 12:1-5\/NKJV.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PASSOVER was a divine contact and ORDINANCE for deliverance, victory, protection, peace,\u00a0restoration\u00a0and covenant to set His people free from Egypt, a place of bondage, suffering, death, torture,\u00a0rigour\u00a0and absolute hopelessness\u00a0(Exodus 1:1-22).<\/b>\u00a0It was a foreshadow of what Christ has done for us now, as the PASSOVER Lamb sacrifice – crucified – for our REDEMPTION from the clutches and bondage of darkness into His\u00a0marvellous\u00a0light\u00a0(Colossians 1:13-14; Galatians 1:3-5).<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s\u00a0the essence of the communion services\u00a0that’s\u00a0been held as often as allowable to be made\u00a0happen.\u00a0Jesus’\u00a0recall and instituted it again with\u00a0His\u00a0disciples. Ensuring that it becomes\u00a0MEMORIAL\u00a0– Memorable.\u00a0Hence,\u00a0the PASSOVER is the MEMORIAL of our REDEMPTION. Amen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Genuine Bible love can be known\u00a0by\u00a0its\u00a0outworking,\u00a0as\u00a0seen\u00a0in Scriptures:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“By this we KNOW love, because He LAID down His life for us. And we also ought to LAY down our lives for the brethren”<\/i>\u00a01 John 3:16.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is my commandment,\u00a0That\u00a0ye love one another, as I have loved\u00a0you. 13 GREATER love hath no man than this, that a man LAY DOWN his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command\u00a0you”\u00a0<\/i>John 15:12-14.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PASSOVER is expressing the genuine Bible LOVE – Laying\u00a0your life down for the good of others as Jesus did.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
